Rubber profiles for industry

Industrial applications call for rubber profiles that perform reliably under daily loads. Sealing, protection, vibration isolation and a neat finish play an important role in machinery, installations and technical constructions.

DG Rubber Profiles makes technical rubber profiles for a wide range of industrial applications. With a large stock of existing moulds, there is a good chance that a suitable profile shape is already available. If a specific cross-section is needed, a new profile can be developed from a technical drawing, sample or dimensions.

Where are rubber profiles used in industry?

In industry, rubber profiles are mainly used to seal machine parts, doors, hatches and panels, protect panel edges, absorb contact and reduce vibration.

Which solution fits best depends on the construction and the conditions in which the profile is used. That is why we look not only at the dimensions but also at function, hardness, material and load.

Machinery and technical installations may need a flexible sealing profile, for example, whereas dimensional stability and protection matter more at the edge of a construction.

Commonly used rubber profiles in industry

Sealing profiles

Sealing profiles are used around doors, hatches, panels and other parts that require a good seal. The shape and hardness of the rubber determine how far the profile can be compressed and how it fits against the construction. For specific applications, the sealing profile can be tailored entirely to the available space and desired function. An example can be found in the knowledge base article on industrial sealing profiles.

Orange D profile for protection and damping in machinery

D profiles

A D profile has a flat mounting side and a rounded outer side, making it suitable for protection, damping and finishing in machinery and technical constructions. D profiles are available in various sizes and hardnesses, so the version can be matched to the load and available fitting space.

Clamping profiles

Clamping profiles are used to protect and finish panel edges and other structural parts. The profile clamps around the existing edge, so it can be used without complex structural modifications. The correct internal dimension is matched to the thickness of the panel or edge.

Custom industrial rubber profiles

Not every machine or technical construction can be fitted with a standard profile. Unusual shapes, limited fitting space or specific functional requirements can make custom work necessary.

A technical drawing, existing profile or sample provides a good basis for development. We first check whether one of our existing moulds matches the desired cross-section.

If the right shape is not yet available, a new mould can be developed. The result is a rubber profile that suits the construction and the technical requirements of the application.

In addition to extrusion, DG Rubber Profiles has various options for producing and processing rubber. Cutting and die-cutting can produce gaskets and flat rubber parts, among other things. Moulding offers possibilities for more complex shapes and technical rubber products.

Rubber type and hardness for industrial conditions

Material choice plays an important role in industrial rubber profiles. Temperature, mechanical load, outdoor use, flexibility and contact with specific substances can all influence the choice of rubber.

DG Rubber Profiles works with various rubber materials, including TPE, EPDM, neoprene and silicone. We look at which properties are needed for each application.

The Shore hardness can also be tailored. Softer rubber deforms more easily and can be suitable for sealing or damping. Harder rubber holds its shape better and can be a good choice when greater mechanical load is expected. Read more in what Shore hardness is and in the comparison EPDM, neoprene and SBR.

In this way, profile shape, material and hardness are considered as a single technical solution.

How we work: from drawing to delivery

  1. Application. An enquiry starts with the application. A technical drawing, sample, photo or dimensions give insight into the desired profile shape and size.
  2. Material and method. We then look at the material, hardness and production method.
  3. Mould check. Next we check whether an existing mould is available. If a new profile shape is needed, a custom solution is developed.
  4. Production and delivery. Once approved, production takes place in the Netherlands, followed by delivery in the agreed version and quantity.

By keeping development and production in-house as far as possible, we can respond quickly and stay in control of the process.

Rubber profiles for machine and equipment manufacturing

In machine and equipment manufacturing, rubber profiles are used for sealing, protecting, damping and finishing machine parts, among other things.

Think of profiles around doors and panels, protective rubbers along structural edges or rubber strips between different parts.

Even when a standard profile does not fit, a specific cross-section can be developed for the machine or installation. For agricultural machinery, you will find more information on the page rubber profiles for agriculture.

One partner for industrial rubber parts

DG Rubber Profiles combines a large stock of moulds with in-house production and various production techniques. This allows us to work with existing profile shapes as well as fully bespoke solutions.

For many applications, a suitable basis is therefore already available. If the right cross-section is missing, a new mould can be developed from a technical drawing or sample.

Our specialists will advise you on profile shape, material, hardness and application. We respond to enquiries within 24 hours.

Frequently asked questions about rubber profiles for industry

Which rubber profiles are used in industry?

Commonly used solutions are sealing profiles, D profiles, clamping profiles and rubber strips. Which version is suitable depends on the function, construction and load.

Can an industrial rubber profile be made fully to measure?

Yes. A new profile can be developed from a technical drawing, existing sample or dimensions. We first check whether an existing mould is suitable.

Which rubber materials are possible?

DG Rubber Profiles works with TPE, EPDM, neoprene and silicone, among others. The right material is determined by the technical requirements and conditions of the application.

Does DG Rubber Profiles also supply gaskets and moulded rubber parts?

Yes. In addition to extruded profiles, gaskets and flat rubber parts are made by cutting and die-cutting. More complex rubber products are produced by moulding.
