Shore hardness indicates how resilient or stiff a rubber is. The right value is decisive for the sealing, damping and service life of your profile.

Shore A versus Shore D

  • Shore A: soft to medium, ideal for seals
  • Shore A 60–80: the most commonly used range for profiles
  • Shore D: hard, for rigid and load-bearing applications
  • Measured with a calibrated durometer

Not sure which hardness you need? Describe the application and we’ll recommend a suitable compound.
